Please make sure that your Internet connection works and download the videoconferencing app Zoom.
I am worried about the quality of my Internet connection.
Prior to the acceptance of your payment and the start of lessons, we will do a video call with you to determine your Japanese language skill and check your Internet connection to confirm that the connection quality is sufficient for online lessons.
How will you decide my level and class?
For the Conversation Course, we will determine your level by conducting an oral interview test via video call. For the Intensive Course, we will determine your level by a paper test prior to the beginning of the course.
Are the lessons only being provided online?
No—students are also attending these lessons in person at the Kudan Institute.
Can I get a refund if I quit in the middle of the term?
Yes—you can receive a refund for the weeks remaining in your term (calculated on a whole week basis) minus a cancellation fee equivalent to one week’s worth of tuition.
例:For example, if you applied for four weeks of lessons and quit during the second week, you will get 【 two weeks of tuition – 16,000 yen 】as a refund.
How do I get the textbooks?
We will mail you the textbooks after confirming your payment. While the textbooks are in transit, we will send you digital materials via email.
  • In the case that we cannot mail you the textbooks due to the corona virus, we will send you a digital version.
How do I pay for the courses?
There are two ways to pay: 1. Bank transfer (international wire) 2. Flywire (online). You will need to pay for any bank charges or fees.

Impression of a participant

Jones(USA) *Taking the Conversation Course via Zoom from the United States of America

I attended Kudan’s Online Course recently and could not be more satisfied with the course. I ordered the textbook and the Zoom format was easy to follow.
The instructors used breakout rooms to allow small groups of students to walk through examples with each other. The lessons were exceptional and I cannot recommend the online course enough.

Beata(Lithuania) *Taking the Intensive Course via Zoom from the Lithuania

It’s my third time studying at Kudan Language Institute since 2019, only this time I am in Europe and attend classes online.
Despite this, it feels like I’m actually in the classroom in Tokyo - the teachers engage everyone, so I get to actively participate in lesson activities and interact with my classmates both on/offline. And although I really miss being in Japan, it's great to be able to continue intensive Japanese language studies and get high-quality lessons from awesome Kudan teachers online!
